Donatella Versace Returns With a New Fashion and Beauty Venture With REVOLVE

Donatella Versace is entering a new chapter. Nearly three decades after taking the creative reins of the house founded by her brother Gianni, the Italian designer is returning to a creative leadership role with a new independent fashion and beauty venture developed in partnership with REVOLVE Group.
Announced on September 21 during Milan Fashion Week, the new joint venture marks Donatella Versace’s first major creative project since she stepped down as Versace’s Chief Creative Officer in March 2025. She will serve as Chief Creative Officer of the new business, leading its creative vision, identity, products, collaborators and broader cultural universe.
The name of the venture has not yet been revealed. Its first products, beginning with beauty, are expected in 2027, with the initial launch planned across the United States, Latin America, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.
A New Beginning After Versace
Donatella Versace became Artistic Director of Versace in 1997, following the death of her brother Gianni, and spent almost three decades shaping the identity of one of the most recognisable names in Italian fashion. In March 2025, she left the position of Chief Creative Officer and subsequently became the house’s Chief Brand Ambassador.
Her departure coincided with a broader transformation of the Versace business. Prada Group acquired Versace in 2025, while Pieter Mulier was appointed Creative Director of the house in 2026. Donatella’s new venture is therefore not a return to the Versace label, but the creation of an entirely separate business built around her own creative vision. That distinction is essential.
Rather than inheriting an established fashion house with decades of archives, codes and structures, Donatella will have the opportunity to construct a new identity from the ground up.
Donatella Versace Meets REVOLVE
The partnership brings together two very different forms of expertise.
Donatella contributes decades of creative experience and cultural influence across fashion, music, entertainment and popular culture. REVOLVE, founded in 2003 by Michael Mente and Mike Karanikolas, brings a digital-first retail infrastructure, technology, consumer intelligence, marketing capabilities and an established global community.
REVOLVE describes itself as a next-generation fashion retailer serving Millennial and Generation Z consumers. The group operates REVOLVE and FWRD and offers fashion, footwear, accessories, beauty and home products. The company reported $1.23 billion in revenue in 2025, according to Vogue.
The new venture is designed around the way a younger generation discovers fashion, experiences culture, shops, shares and connects. According to the companies, fashion, beauty, entertainment, talent, creators and community will intersect through content, experiences, conversation and commerce.
Beauty Comes First
The first stage of the project will focus on beauty.
The name of the brand and its initial creative direction are expected to be revealed in the coming months, with the first launch scheduled for 2027. Fashion will also form part of the venture, although the companies have not yet disclosed the complete product calendar or detailed fashion launch strategy. This approach illustrates how contemporary fashion businesses can increasingly be built beyond the traditional runway-to-boutique model. The venture is explicitly conceived as an online platform, combining Donatella’s creative direction with REVOLVE’s technology, operating infrastructure and direct relationship with consumers.
What This Partnership Says About Fashion
The significance of the announcement goes beyond Donatella Versace’s personal return.
It reflects the growing convergence between creative authority, digital commerce and popular culture. REVOLVE’s strength lies in its ability to connect discovery, community and commerce, while Donatella brings a creative identity developed over decades at the highest level of international fashion.
Donatella herself has described the new project as an opportunity to speak to a new generation through beauty and fashion, while emphasising her interest in music, film and art. The partnership therefore represents a different model from the traditional creation of a luxury house: an independent brand built from the outset around digital discovery, cultural connection and a recognised creative personality.
Whether this model will ultimately establish a lasting fashion and beauty name remains to be seen. For now, the facts are clear: Donatella Versace is back in a creative leadership position, but this time she is building something entirely new.
The name will come later. The first products will arrive in 2027. And the next chapter of one of fashion’s most recognisable creative figures has officially begun.
