A new gastronomic destination is set to emerge above the clouds. When the highly anticipated TITLIS Tower opens its doors on 3 June 2026, acclaimed Swiss chef André Kneubühler will take the helm of Joseph’s, the tower’s signature casual fine dining restaurant located more than 3,000 metres above sea level.

Recognised by GaultMillau as “Discovery of the Year”, the talented chef brings an impressive international background and a refined culinary philosophy to one of Switzerland’s most exciting new hospitality projects. Designed by world-renowned architects Herzog & de Meuron, the TITLIS Tower is poised to redefine the visitor experience on Mount Titlis, combining architecture, gastronomy and Alpine luxury in a singular destination.

Most recently, André Kneubühler spent two years at The Omnia in Zermatt, where, as Executive Chef, he achieved an impressive 17 GaultMillau points. Before that, the Aargau-born chef built his reputation through a series of prestigious appointments in Switzerland and abroad, developing a culinary style shaped by excellence, creativity and international influence.

His professional journey has taken him from London’s exclusive Mosimann’s Private Dining Club to the renowned Hotel Restaurant Schifflände in Birrwil. In 2017, he was awarded a scholarship from Andreas Caminada’s Fundaziun Uccelin, an opportunity that opened the doors to some of the most celebrated restaurants in the United States. There, he gained valuable experience at Dan Barber’s Blue Hill at Stone Barns and Daniel Humm’s legendary Eleven Madison Park in New York.

Following his return to Switzerland, Kneubühler joined Restaurant Stucki in Basel, holder of two Michelin stars and 19 GaultMillau points. He remained with the restaurant until 2024 and served as Sous-Chef from 2019 onwards. His years working alongside renowned chef Tanja Grandits left a lasting influence on both his culinary identity and conceptual approach to gastronomy.

Beyond the kitchen, André Kneubühler is also actively involved in concept development and food design, further demonstrating his multidimensional vision of modern dining. In 2025, GaultMillau honoured his achievements by naming him “Discovery of the Year”.

Elevating Alpine Dining to New Heights

At Joseph’s, the 32-year-old chef will assume full culinary responsibility and create the restaurant’s gastronomic direction from the ground up.

“With André Kneubühler, we are welcoming a chef who perfectly reflects our ambition to offer guests an experience at the highest level,” says Norbert Patt, CEO of TITLIS Cableways.

Located within the transformed TITLIS Tower, Joseph’s will feature 120 seats and offer a unique casual fine dining concept in one of the most spectacular settings in the Swiss Alps. Combining contemporary cuisine, exceptional service and breathtaking mountain views, the restaurant aims to become a culinary destination in its own right.

For André Kneubühler, the project represents a rare and inspiring opportunity.

“I am looking forward to this unique workplace and to delighting guests from around the world with exceptional culinary experiences,” he says.
