Swiss independent watchmaker EMERA introduces its boldest creation to date: the Sentinel SV1 Series, a mechanical masterpiece designed for those who defy convention. Part of the Super Veloce collection, the Sentinel is not merely a timepiece it is a statement of power, masculinity, and uncompromising technicality.

Crafted in an ultra-limited series of just nine pieces worldwide, the Sentinel SV1 embodies EMERA’s radical and contemporary take on haute horlogerie. Conceived as a mechanical extension of the modern man in pursuit of the absolute, it fuses raw strength, technological precision, and avant-garde design in a way that pushes the boundaries of traditional watchmaking.

A Swiss Vision, Born in Geneva

Founded in 2023 by designer Patrick Freiburghaus and master watchmaker Cyrano Devanthey who brings over 25 years of experience at some of the most prestigious maisons EMERA is firmly rooted in Swiss tradition while embracing a disruptive philosophy.

“We develop everything in-house, from movement architecture to final assembly. Every partner we work with is Swiss, and every component and finish is driven by an obsession with mastery,” the founders explain.

With a mission to reinterpret centuries-old craftsmanship through a radical lens, EMERA creates mechanical artifacts designed to endure, produced in intentional, ultra-exclusive series and available only by subscription pre-order.

Sculpted Mechanical Power

The Sentinel SV1 is designed as an emotional machine at the crossroads of art and technology. Its angular architecture, tactical materials, and surgical finishing create a striking aesthetic inspired by futuristic science fiction and cutting-edge robotics.

Forged from Grade 5 titanium and high-density quartz composite, the case measures 50.26 × 50.50 × 13.90 mm, with sapphire crystals (including a curved front crystal) treated with anti-reflective coatings. Taut lines, sharply cut surfaces, and precisely carved angles give the piece its commanding presence.

Inside beats EMERA’s exclusive in-house calibre, the MRA 02-1 Automatic, entirely developed and assembled in the brand’s Geneva workshop. Notable features include:

A 20° inclined balance wheel in Declafor 1015 with variable inertia, adjustable weights, and Nivarox® spring.
Bridges and mainplate in Grade 5 titanium, openworked tungsten oscillating weight on ceramic bearings.
Frequency: 28,800 vph (4 Hz), 44-hour power reserve, 19 jewels, shock-protected by Incabloc®.

Every watch is personally assembled, regulated, and validated by co-founder Devanthey, ensuring an unparalleled level of precision and craftsmanship.

The Sentinel is purpose-built for action, featuring instant readability with a central hours and minutes display, small seconds at 7 o’clock, and high-intensity SuperLuminova® treatment. The high-density rubber strap, contoured for the wrist, is designed to withstand harsh conditions and attaches via EMERA’s proprietary quick-change fastening system intuitive, smooth, and tool-free. A Velcro® and quartz composite clasp ensures silent security and maximum comfort.
