Vintage specialists source archetypal jeans from the late twentieth century, which are subsequently reinterpreted through the collection’s signature crossed-lacing detail. New Balance x Miu Miu RC150: Sport Meets Luxury

Entering the fifth year of their collaboration, New Balance and Miu Miu introduce a reconstructed version of the RC150 racing sneaker, unveiled during the Spring/Summer 2027 runway show. Originally launched by New Balance in the late 1990s, the RC150 takes its name from its groundbreaking lightweight design of 150 grams. Conceived as a performance road-racing shoe, original vintage examples remain exceptionally difficult to find. Miu Miu reinterprets the silhouette through technical mesh, contrast zigzag embroidery, and an UltraLight sole. Interchangeable laces pass through external loops and are loosely knotted at the toe, introducing a playful, customizable finish. The colour palette references late-1990s running shoes, combining sophisticated, understated hues with brighter, sport-inspired shades. Following the deconstructed New Balance 574 introduced in Spring/Summer 2022, and subsequent collaborations featuring the 530 SL and 530 SL ballerina, the RC150 continues a creative partnership built on experimentation and the transformation of familiar design codes. The runway pieces are scheduled to become available in selected Miu Miu stores and on miumiu.com in February 2027.
