2025 Genesis Electrified G80 Long Wheelbase: Stretching the Limits of Electric Luxury
Genesis has unveiled its latest statement in refined electrification: the Electrified G80 Long Wheelbase, making its debut in Switzerland. As the name suggests, this is no ordinary luxury sedan. It’s a flagship built to elevate comfort, craftsmanship, and capability marrying executive space with EV innovation and Korean savoir-faire.
Elegance Extended
At 5,135 mm in length and riding on a 3,140 mm wheelbase, the Electrified G80 Long Wheelbase is an embodiment of proportion and poise. With a discreet 144 mm of ground clearance and a best-in-class drag coefficient of just 0.25 Cd, it glides through air as confidently as it does on the road. A turning radius of just 11.3 meters (with rear-wheel steering) ensures urban agility isn’t sacrificed for stature.
Subtle refinements to its exterior include an evolved Crest Grille concealing the charging port, MLA headlamps with micro lens array technology, and a revised parabolic shoulder line linking front to rear. The rear bumper is now sharper and sportier, with aluminum accents that echo the G80’s premium ethos. A new exclusive color, Geneva Silver, underscores the sedan’s European debut.
Matching its graceful exterior are 19-inch Hyper Silver alloy wheels with concave contours and floating Genesis center caps a small detail with big impact.

Interior Craftsmanship Meets Digital Intelligence
Inside, the cabin continues Genesis’s philosophy of “the Beauty of White Space.” Materials are indulgent, surfaces tactile, and space abundant. The stretched wheelbase unlocks a generous 995 mm of rear legroom, complemented by a 334-liter luggage compartment. For those who choose the optional 2nd Row Comfort Package, rear seating includes power sunshades, illuminated mirrors, soft-close doors, and ventilated seats.
At the front, the driver commands a panoramic 27-inch OLED display unifying instrumentation and infotainment. Operated via touchscreen, crystal rotary dial, or voice command, the new ccIC (connected car Integrated Cockpit) offers fingerprint authentication, over-the-air updates, and seamless integration of digital services.
The optional Comfort Package enhances the front seats with Ergo Motion functions, massage modes, and memory settings, all certified by Germany’s AGR for optimal spinal support.
Electric Drivetrain: Dual-Motor Precision, Long-Distance Poise
The Electrified G80 Long Wheelbase features a dual-motor setup 136 kW at each axle for a combined output of 272 kW (370 PS) and 700 Nm of instantaneous torque. This all-wheel drive powertrain launches the sedan from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds, while a second surge from 80 to 120 km/h takes just 3.3 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 225 km/h (139 mph).
A 94.5 kWh lithium-ion battery, weighing 546 kg, feeds the motors via a 500V system. Thanks to its 800V architecture, ultra-fast charging from 10% to 80% can be achieved in just 25 minutes using a 350 kW charger. More conventional charging methods are equally efficient:
11 kW AC Wallbox (3-phase): 10%–100% in 8h30
50 kW DC Fast Charging (400V): 10%–80% in 84 minutes
Genesis has also equipped the model with a new battery pre-conditioning system, optimizing performance and charge times even in adverse weather conditions.
The result: a WLTP combined range of up to 570 km (354 miles), and an impressive 684 km (425 miles) in city driving. Combined energy consumption stands at 18.1 kWh/100 km, dropping to 15.1 kWh/100 km in urban use.
Ride Comfort, Soundscape, and Handling: All Engineered for Serenity
Soundproofing is paramount. Laminated glass, triple door seals, special foam tire inserts, and an ANC-R (Active Noise Control Road) system ensure a whisper-quiet cabin. For audiophiles, the Bang & Olufsen sound system with 17 speakers and Dolby Atmos transforms every journey into an immersive sound experience.
Driving comfort is augmented by Road Preview suspension, which uses front-facing cameras to anticipate road surfaces and adjust damping in real time.
Meanwhile, the Electronic Dynamic Torque Vectoring Control (eDTVC) fine-tunes grip by distributing torque and braking force intelligently across the axles, allowing this long-wheelbase sedan to remain composed in dynamic conditions.
Safety and Smart Assistance
Safety is comprehensive and cutting-edge. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) include:
Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2 (FCA 2)
Blind Spot View Monitor
Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA 2) with lane-change functionality
Lane Following Assist 2 (LFA 2)
Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 (RSPA 2)
Genesis has also added a front-center airbag between driver and front passenger, boosting passive protection in side-impact scenarios.
Trim, Pricing, and Customization
Offered in Standard and Premium trims, the Electrified G80 Long Wheelbase starts at CHF 87,100, with the Premium version priced from CHF 91,000. Optional packages include:
Comfort Package (Front Seats) Massage, memory, Ergo Motion seats
2nd Row Comfort Package Ventilated rear seats, soft-close doors, luxury amenities
